Sell on Pet Treats

Pet Treats lists treats for every kind of animal from independent makers through Shopify Collective, and this page says what a maker should have in place and what to expect.

What we look for

  • Treats for any animal, from dogs and cats to small pets, birds, reptiles, horses and backyard flocks.
  • Shelf stable products, with nothing frozen.
  • A printed label that shows an ingredient list, a net weight and the maker's address.
  • Product photos that can sit on a plain, neutral background.
  • A store on Shopify with Shopify Collective turned on as a supplier.
  • Shipping to addresses in the United States.

What we do not list

The catalog leaves out frozen raw products, foods and meal toppers, supplements, litter, toys, beds and apparel. It also leaves out items that a maker limits to certain regions, and bundles that mix food with treats.

How Collective works for a maker

The Shopify Help Center describes the supplier side this way: a supplier sets a retailer margin in its price lists, and when a retailer sells one of its products, the order arrives in the supplier's own Shopify admin to fulfill and ship directly to the customer. The Help Center also says the retailer sets the return terms a supplier accepts when it connects. Ours for partner items are in the Refund Policy: a 30 day window for eligible items, a return label from the maker and no label or restocking fee, with food and treats final sale unless an item arrives damaged or wrong. How an order with several makers reaches a customer is set out on How shipping works.

What to expect

Each listing gets copy written for this site before it is indexed, so a new line can take time to appear. Sniff & Shift LLC owns the site and makes the Sniff and Shift line, which is featured first in every collection where it matches, and you can read more on the makers page. This page promises no volume, placement or sales.

How to start

Write to us through the contact page with your store's web address and the treats you would like listed.
